Grow from your Failures.

Hello beauties,

Already Week 4 /Tip 3 of our beautiful journey. WOW! Time flies. I hope that you have been following the last few posts and getting amazing tips on How to Become More Confident, Setting Goals, and Facing your fears. Like I explained there, I will be touching on one tip per post, hoping that you can get as much information possible to help you in this journey.

This week I will be talking about Failure. Failure is something that mostly everyone is afraid of because of the things that can come with it. It can bring humiliation, depression, lack of confidence, and others. That is why learning how to use failure as a thing to grow from is very important to help your self-esteem.

First of all, you have to realize that failure won’t kill you, the fear of it can. Why? Because when you have a fear of failure, you hold yourself back from going for what you want. It could cause you to bring yourself down.

ConfidentAs humans, when we make mistakes, we often get upset, missing the benefit of failing. Yes, benefit. The benefit of getting over your ego and coming back stronger, with an even smarter approach. Our ego is our own worst enemy. The minute something goes wrong, our defense mechanism kicks in, tempting us to do what we know best, which is avoid the situation. You then turn to denial, chasing your losses, and ruin your ability to adapt.

The idea is for you to stop seeing failure as the thing that makes your knees shake and to start seeing it as a learning experience, something useful and necessary for your growth. Lessons to help you find different ways so succeed in what you want.

So, always ask yourself, what can I learn from this situation?

I have failed many times in life, but I haven’t let that stop me. Each time I get back up stronger and try one more time. I have mentioned in previous blogs the story of how I have had to rebuild my organizations a few times because of small mistakes made. Read more on it on THIS BLOG.

WalkYou have to face your fears. This is the only way that you will be able to discover the fact that failure or being wrong won’t kill you. The sky will not fall, your world will not be ruined. That’s just what people who haven’t faced their fears think. 

But this is the mentality that you need to have, being able to live with failure and learn from it. Because this is what will teach you how to be stronger, how to overcome each obstacle, how to learn different strategies to succeed, etc.

Yes, you become stronger when you learn from these failures. When you fail at something, you start getting accustomed to it and you start to lose the fear. You’ll start to handle things differently, things that you weren’t able to handle before.

You also realize that you at least took a chance at something, even if you failed at it. You didn’t just sit there doing nothing, which takes a lot of courage and determination. You increase your chances of succeeding at something. It brings you a step closer to winning.

Sometimes we think that we can just learn from other’s mistakes, but this is not always the case. You have to experience failure on your own to learn a lesson and to gain experience that maybe no-one else can relate to.

ConfidenceWe are not built to be perfect, we make mistakes. You are your our own worst critic, therefore you have to also learn to forgive yourself. Use every opportunity, good or bad, to grow. Be gentle to yourself.

Practice failing, expose yourself to new things, different ideas and try different approaches where there is lots to learn.

Also remember that people aren’t paying attention to what you do wrong or when you fail. They have their own problems they are dealing with.

Are you being pulled back like an arrow?

Today I wanted to share a conversation that I was having with a friend not long ago. He was telling me about a situation that he was going through at work, where he failed at something that he desperately wanted to achieve, so he had to restart the process all the way from zero.

As the great friend that I am, I was giving him some advice to calm him down a bit. I felt like I had some experience since I went through similar things in this business. I went through situations where I either had to rebuild my whole organization and/or client base from scratch because of minor mistakes. But you see, many things in life are that way. You may start something you are passionate about, but then out of nowhere, one simple thing goes wrong and you have to start all over.

There is always a reason behind everything that happens to you in life. There is no coincidence in God’s world, only Godcidence. See, everything that you go through is already part of the plan that God (or whatever higher power you believe in) has in stores for you. Although it may not seem as pretty right now, there is always something so much bigger and better waiting for you. We just have to keep going until we get it. Sometimes we forget that and waste so much time and energy in complaining about the situation, and I say it because I do it too. Instead, we should invest that energy in pushing even harder, making moves, and put our faith in God that everything will get better, if it is part of the plan of course.

Many times throughout our journey, we feel we are taking steps backwards. No matter how hard we try, it just doesn’t seem like we are making any progress. Most of the time we are focused on concrete changes to validate whether we are reaching the goal; and when these things don’t happen we may begin to lose motivation. However, change is a process and many times there are major shifts energetically and internally that need to happen before we see a physical manifestation.

I don’t know who this message is for, if anybody is even reading this and getting something out of it. Who knows? maybe this is a message that I am writing for myself. But what I want you to understand is that, whatever it is, it is only a minor setback, something momentary. It doesn’t mean that you have to stop going and working for what you want.

Stop complaining about not being where you want to be in life. It takes years of dedication, hard work, consistency, failures, energy, sacrifices and effort to get to the top of whatever you are trying to get. There are no short cuts, and beating yourself up about a minor setback is only going to set you back even more.

Like the quote says, “Nobody said it would be easy. If it was easy, everyone would do it. It’s the hard that makes it great.” Things aren’t supposed to magically happen for you, to be all flowers and rainbows. You have to go through the downs to appreciate the ups. Yes, some people succeed on the first try, but if you do, you won’t appreciate the win and you may settle. Now, if you fall a couple of times and get back up even harder, you already know what being down feels like, so you’ll feel even better when you win. You learn to appreciate the win. You also learn that there is more, you don’t settle for that one win. Because if you tried different ways until you succeeded, then you know that there are different possibilities in which you can reach something. Makes sense? It shows you that you can continue pushing for more and that nothing can stop you.

But you have to dedicate yourself everyday to mastering your craft. You have to stay consistent, put in the work, stay dedicated, make the necessary sacrifices, and not give up. Stop comparing your journey to others. The only person you should compare yourself to is the old you. This is the only way in which you’ll be able to see how much progress you have made, how much you have grown.

Learn to grow through what you go through. You got this and you will get out of whatever situation it is that you are in. As long as you do your part and put your energy in the right bucket, then you are set. The more we, “the arrow,” get pulled back the harder we fight against it. Persistence and hard work do pay off. Keep building your foundation, staying present in the work you are doing, fall back on your tools if necessary so that when that arrow finally launches you are fully ready to receive all that you deserve!

Ok. So, who am I?

Aloha! My name is Fabely and I want to welcome you to my New Blog! I am excited and nervous about starting this new project, but they say “if your goals don’t scare you you’re not aiming high enough”, right? So here we are. I have had my own website for quite a while now, dedicated to health and fitness, but deciding to start a blog and share more about who I am, took some manning up to do. But I DID IT! I have decided to share with you a bit more about myself, about health & fitness, about my daily life and any obstacles or victories I grow through. But first I want to thank you for taking the time to read about my little shenanigans.

Now, most of you may already know a little about me, through either a social media platform or by what you have read on this website, but if not, then I shall introduce myself. As you may already know, my name is Fabely and I am Dominican. I am currently 27 years old. Born in NY but grew up in the Dominican Republic. I love that I was able to experience growing up in a different country because it helps me appreciate other cultures even more. I am currently living in Florida and so far so good. As you continue to read my post, you will see that I am very family oriented.

I am a Wellness Coach, however I wasn’t always into fitness. To be honest, I disliked anything that had to do with workouts or eating healthy. I wasn’t considered overweight, but I did have a few extra pounds on me. Until a few years ago, when I went through a nasty breakup and put on even more weight (I stress eat). I felt extremely insecure and lost any type of confidence I had in myself. It hurt. So I knew I had to do something about it. I started a nutrition program with my sisters, who have always liked fitness things, and was able to drop 30lbs within 2-3 months. I loved how I was feeling. I fell in love with health and fitness so much that I decided to help others regain their confidence and gain self control in their lives, knowing that they have the ability to change their body and how they feel.

I also started listening to a lot of Personal Development, which is something that completely changed my life. It transformed the way that I see things and how I react to them. Take a look at this book, which was actually the first book I read in this journey.

The Secret

I will keep this blog as real as it can get. I am not always open about my personal things, but here I want to share any knowledge I may have that can help someone become their better self. I want to make sure that I can help you get in the right state of mind so that your body can follow the direction that you want to go in life, and so that it follows with confidence. I will share the good, the bad, and even the silly times that I have. If I can help at least one person by sharing about my life, then I want to continue sharing.
