Tips to maintain a positive attitude at work.

So I recently started a new temporary job, and I have to say that it has been tough after not having to work for someone else for so long. So I thought it would be great to share with you guys a few tips on how I maintain a positive attitude at work, especially if you’re under a lot of pressure. Keeping a positive vibe at work can definitely make a huge difference in your success in this business, and life.

Whether you work from home or the corporate world, these tips will help keep the place a happy one:

  1. Recognition. Make sure to recognize your coworkers when you see that they are doing something right. It doesn’t matter the position that you’re in, do it. If someone always has their desk clean, or someone is being awesome with follow ups, being extra dedicated, compliment them. Everyone likes a little love to keep them encouraged.
  2.  Help. Anytime that you can. If you see that someone needs some help with something, always be the person that jumps on to help. It lets people know that they can depend on you.
  3. PositiveNo text. If there’s an important conversation you need to have with any of your coworkers, do it in person. Face to face. You never know how someone takes what you are trying to say. This will strengthen your communication at work.
  4. Have fun. Lighten up sometimes. Don’t be a dull coworker. Keep your focus but laugh and have fun at the same time.
  5. Have lunch time with others. Get to know them outside of work. Talk about something other than work.
  6. Stay positive. Your attitude is everything. A workplace full of drama can get toxic super quick. I get that you may not love your job, but it’s all about perspective. Tell yourself everyday “I am going to have a positive outlook today”.
  7.  Business and personal don’t match. Try to leave your personal business outside of work, and your business outside of your personal life. This is key. You have to know when yo turn off one or the other to keep them separate.

I hope these tips were helpful. They have helped me the past few weeks and at any other job I have had. But at the end of the day, we are all working to achieve greatness, beating ourselves down will not get us there.

Success is not about what you do, but about WHO you are. Choose to be happy and positive.

What are some tips that have helped you stay positive at work??

February Check In

Wow! It’s already the second of February. Feels like just yesterday I was home celebrating New Year’s Eve with my family.

Anywho, did you make it? Did you go through with your resolutions? Are you still sticking to it? Or are you already falling back into old habits? Are you getting frustrated with the results?

This post is just a friendly reminder to KEEP GOING!! This is only the second chapter of twelve. Don’t give up.

The first few months are for exploring, finding out what works best for you. This is the beginning of your journey, your story. Don’t give up in the beginning… Like any book, you have to work your way up to the good part. If you know from the beginning how the story goes, or how it will end, will you really want to read it? So just keep going, we all want to see how great your story will end.

Just imagine 4 more weeks from now what you will look like and feel like if you stick to it. The change will be so much more noticeable, but only if you keep going.

Hey! If January wasn’t your best, you still have another eleven months. That is a lot of time to get back up and achieve whatever it is you want. So again, keep pushing. It may seem like a long time right now, but those months will fly by.

Keep killing it!

It’s not Mondays that suck, its your life.

I used to be the type of person to wake up and immediately look at my phone and scroll through Instagram. Until one day I saw this post that said, “It’s not Mondays that suck, its your life.” Not because I hate Monday’s, but because I realized how what I was currently doing with my time was affecting my life. So ever since then, it has become a ritual for me to start my morning with Personal Development before anything else. The reason why I do that is because it now helps me start my day on a positive note, which sets me off to have a great day, no matter what happens that day. So whether that is listening to a video, reading, completing one of my Bible Plans, or simply having a conversation with God, I make sure to start my day that way.

Your day goes however you want it to go. If you start your day in a bad note, and decide that it will be a bad day, then guess what??? it will be a bad day. But if you start on a good note, it doesn’t matter what happens to you, you will react to things differently, and you will start noticing how you don’t let those things ruin your day anymore. You start noticing how your days change, how you start having less and less problems, because you are in a less moody state.

LoveLifeI always encourage self growth, which I think is obvious as you look at my page and read a few of my posts. I encourage everyone to follow their heart, because you never know the wonderful places it can lead you to. So I do a lot of Personal Development. This is something everyone should be doing first thing when you start your day.

Well, today I heard a really great video that had an amazing group of speakers put together into one. It starts with a great message from a book called “The Complete Conversations with God” by Neale Donald Walsch. Which is a great recommendation if you are spiritual/religious. You will also hear different quotes from big names in the sports and entertainment field. I don’t think it is a coincidence that so many successful people have the same ideas and principles when it comes to success. They all share similar ideas to help you succeed, that you can find in bible scriptures with a twist of modern language.

I think it is important for us, specially people my generation or younger, to seek guidance from people who are already at the level you want to be at. To listen to those who have been through life because they already know what works and what doesn’t. They have already gone through mistakes that we can learn from. And although you will still make mistakes, even the same ones, you can at least skim some of these by just listening to those that are where you want to be.

You have to do what most people don’t want to do, what they don’t have the passion to do. This is the only way success will come to you. The things that take the most time, that are the hardest, are the things that will make you the most successful version of yourself.

Like the video says, you are your own rule maker. You set the guidelines. You decide how well you have done, how well you are doing, how well you will do. For you are the one who decides who and what you really are and who you want to be.

So look at what successful people are already doing, listen to what they have to say, and adjust whatever you need to adjust based on your life, so that we can all be there too. See you at the top!

Here is that video I was referring to. Hope you listen to it and that it helps.

Here are some things we HAVE to leave behind.

So as January comes to an end, I wanted to quickly go over a few things that we should leave behind. These are things that should have been left back in 2017, but if you haven’t yet, DO IT NOW, so that you can finally start improving again.

These are things that you should leave behind so that you can focus your energy on being great, on being amazing, being the best version of yourself and having an amazing 2018.

  • Worrying about unnecessary things. There’s no telling on the amount of time we have all wasted on worrying about something ridiculous.
  • Thinking that self care is selfish. If anything, this is NECESSARY. You need to care for yourself if you want to care for others.
  • Doubts. What’s in the past is in the past. You are only in the NOW. You can’t change the past. It will only stop you from paying attention to opportunities that could be right in front of you.
  • Restrictive diets. Make it a healthy balanced lifestyle, not something where you have to restrict yourself from everything.
  • Being proud of being busy. Ok, this one is a bit odd. But nowadays everyone brags about being busy, but the human mind and body can’t handle that kind of stress well. You don’t want to reach a total burnout. Take some time to recharge.
  • Unrealistic expectations. There is not one person that has a perfect life. Stop comparing yourself to an illusion. If you strive for perfection it will stop you from seeing how good what you have is. Happiness comes from appreciating what you already have.
  • Social Media. You may be thinking, “how is she saying this when one of her main jobs is social media”. I don’t mean completely people. But at least sometimes. Social media is amazing and it offers a great opportunity if you know how to take it, but if you spend too much time on it, it can mess with your head.

What do you want to leave behind?

How to start lifting?

A few years ago I couldn’t get into lifting, not even if my life depended on it. I would create this awesome workout, go to the gym, perform it, and then not even go back. I was 0% into it. But then I realized that it was because my mind wasn’t really into it. I wasn’t doing it for me. 😒

You see, when you start something or do something in general, you have to make sure that it is something you are doing for you. Because you like it and want to do it. Otherwise, it’s just going to feel forced and you will end up giving up quick. Just like I did so many times when trying to start my healthy lifestyle.

It took me a few tries, until I finally asked myself, why is it that I really want to do this? Why do I want to start working out? Lifting? So ask yourself those questions. Are you doing it to please someone else? Or is it really for you? Because you enjoy it? Because you genuinely want to change your lifestyle, to get healthier, and are you ready for it?

But now that I have actually stuck to a routine, I have to say that lifting is awesome. 💪🏼 Not only do you feel more powerful and confident when you are lifting things, but it can also do a lot of good to your body. Like improve your posture, build muscle, make you stronger, help you lose weight, and improve your health overall.

I mainly lift because it makes me feel good and I’m able to transform my body to the way I want it to look. 💁🏼‍♀️

So here are some tips you can use for when you are starting to lift:

  • First of all, know that men and women can do the same workouts just fine. Ladies, it won’t make you look bulky. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Just make sure to adjust the weights to what you are capable of lifting and challenge yourself when you are choosing the weights. Don’t try to take the easy route. Choose a weight that challenges you while still being able to hold proper form.
  • Try to use more free weights than the machines. Machines are good for beginners, but you want to strive towards the free weights more. Make sure you learn the proper form of each workout before you start working out, or before you start adding extra weights. If you feel a bit intimidated in the free weights area, read a few tips I shared on How To Become More Confident at the Gym.
  • Usually I split my routines between lower and upper body. But you can start by doing full body workouts, targeting all parts of your body, until you get more used to a routine and familiar with what works with your body.
  • For your reps, it all depends on your goal. If you are trying to build strength, shoot for 1-5 reps and between 1-10 sets. If you are looking to build muscle, aim for 8-12 reps and 3-4 sets. Now, if you are trying to build endurance, 8-12 reps works fine, but you can also try to aim for 15+ reps.
  • Don’t try to be Superman and workout every single day. Remember to have your rest days. They are also important because you will get sore, specially if you’re just starting out. Listen to your body and know when to take a rest day.
  • Do some research to create your workouts. Usually, the night before or a few hours before my workouts, I look up other fitness pages on Instagram to get inspired on the type of workout I want to do, and also to make sure I know the proper form. You can also YouTube ideas. Look for workouts based on your goal. They are all different. You can go on my Instagram @Fabby_FitLife and look for the hashtag #FabbyFitVideo to get some ideas of workouts you can do.
  • And most importantly, you have to start eating right. If you want to lose weight, gain muscle, get strong, get healthy, shred, whatever your goal is, you HAVE to start eating right. You have to have a balanced diet, with adequate protein intake, good fats, carbs for energy, and the right amount of calories. Again, there are different plans based on your goal.

I’ll be more than happy to help you create a workout and meal plan that works based on your goal, just contact me and I got you 😉

I hope these few tips can help you get your lifting part of your workout started. I definitely love lifting and I hope you do too. There are just so many benefits from it.

Recovery tips for after the Holidays

So the holidays are over. Don’t you just love the mini vacation though? I sure do! But vacations/holidays can definitely take its toll on our body. So it is time to get back on track. I know, I know!! Time to get back to your routine.

I had an amazing time with my family and friends, check some pictures HERE. I enjoyed the food we had, while still being mindful and staying on track as much as possible. How did you do? Did you eat too much?

Here are some tips to help you get back on track faster:

  • Start where you are. It might be easier to start there and have a period of transition than trying to jump right back into your old routine. Ease back into it.
  • Don’t try to do it all at once. You might just feel overwhelmed and will fail and then feel like crap. Focus on one thing at a time.
  • Drink more water, it will help you flush out faster.
  • Stop eating those leftovers. They’re just extra carbs.
  • Eat more veggies and add more fiber to your meals.
  • Cut your salt intake. More than likely, your meals during the holidays had a higher amount of salt than you’re used to. So avoid it for a few days.
  • Stop weighting yourself too often to check the damage. Weight yourself once and set it as the start weight of your journey, but avoid weighing yourself every day.
  • Love yourself and accept that you enjoyed the Holidays with the people you care about.
  • Don’t beat yourself up. Ditch the guilt. It isn’t worth it. You are living a healthier lifestyle and that includes enjoying the holidays.

Hope these tips help you recover faster and get back on track. What helps you get back on track? Let me know in the comments.

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!

Happy Holidays!!! Hope that you had an amazing holiday season with your loved ones. That you enjoyed every single second of it. I sure did, that is why I wanted to share a little bit about how mine went.

Happy New YearNow, I don’t wish you a year where everything is great, that is something unrealistic. I wish you a year where you can look in the mirror and love yourself. That you have enough self-love to fight your battles, and to be humble enough to know when a battle is impossible to win. I wish that you could understand that if you move from complaints things can actually change for you. That you stay away from the “I can’t” and recognize the “I don’t want to”. I wish that you listen to your truth, and that you say it with confidence, because this is your truth. That you face your fears, because it is the only way you will be able to get over it. That you learn how to tolerate other people’s flaws because you also have your own. That you don’t punish yourself for making mistakes, you can’t do it all. That you continue to grow, until the point that you can and want to. I don’t wish that this 2018 brings you happiness but that you can be happy.

That this New Year you become happy, joyful, healthy and successful in everything you want.

Remember that I am here to support you in achieving any personal, health or fitness goal and to help you fulfill your dream.

What did you do for the holidays? What do you celebrate?

Here is how I spent my Holiday Season:
