Have you ever sat down to think about each one of your friends and your relationship with them? How are they benefiting your life? What’s the value that they add to it?
If you still haven’t figured out the reason for asking yourself those questions, it is because people have a huge impact in your life. Therefore you need to know who you surround yourself with.
A few years ago, the type of friends I had were the ones who always wanted to go out, party, drink and spend money. Although this is not bad once in a while, it wasn’t what I needed in my life at the time. It wasn’t bringing any positivity into my life. So I completely changed my circle of influence, and the past few years have been nothing but positivity and growth for myself. Don’t get me wrong, I love every single one of my past and current friends, because they all taught me something and made me the person I am now. But now I have learned how to choose the right people to have around me.
Like Jim Rohn says, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” So, Who are those people? What do their lives look like? What does yours look like? Is this how you want your life to stay?
Each person that comes into your life will have a purpose in it. Whether they come to stay or to teach you some type of life lesson. Some people will literally suck the life out of you, others will push you and motivate you to add more value to it.
Surround yourself with people who are always happy, positive, people who enrich your life. These are people that inspire you to be better, they provide motivation to achieve your goals, they empower you to make any necessary changes that you need to succeed and will always cheer you on your success. You will see how you will become more productive, organized, consistent, and excited about things.
- So write down the names of the people you spend the most time with.
- Write down their qualities.
- Would you say they add value to your life?
- Think about how they interact and affect you.
- Do they make you feel like you have what it takes to reach your goals?
- Do they support you?
- Do you feel happy or drained after spending time with them?
Remember that you also attract what you are, you have to give off positive vibes and be confident. Be yourself. This will lead you to the right people for you. Let any negativity go. You’ll be less stressed and will find more joy in daily things.
So next time you need a boost, reach out to your inner circle, making sure that they are the right ones. Because not only do they make life more fun, but they improve both your self-confidence and self-worth.
It’s this simple…if it isn’t nourishing your mind, body, or soul, get rid of it!
